What rental truck moving company do you recommend or not recommend and why?

I will be driving a small truck maybe 10 foot from CA to WA.

Ryder. They have newer, cleaner equipment and a very large maintenance division. A lot of commercial companies contract them to do their fleet roadside service. You want something comfortable while you drive this trip if you know what I mean.

What is the best truck rental company?

with the small trucks it’s not as big a deal. get the best price. with the large trucks… UHaul. they are much easier to load and haul b/c of the 2 ft lower bed height and thus lower center of gravity.

Both of these answers are not good thus far. I would recommend Penske as they have the newest and most maintained trucks in the industry. They have the least amount of breakdowns and the quickest breakdown recovery time out there if there is an issue. Uhaul, if you have seen their trucks on the road or on the side of the road, are almost all 1980-1990’s trucks. Also, their larger trucks are unleaded gas and get 4-5 miles per gallons. The center of gravoity makes no difference, that person is an idiot. Penske’s large trucks are diesel and get 6-10 miles per gallons. All of Penske’s trucks are 3 years old or newer, meaning the oldest trucks the their fleet are 2006. Ryder is not an option as they do not do any type of oneway rentals, so if you rented with them, you would have to do round trip.
