Does anyone have a uhaul discount code or coupon for truck rental?

We are moving next week. How can we get a discount for u-haul? there are no other Truck Rental places in our area… HELP!

Just play some hardball with them. Lets say they gave you a quote of $1000. Call them back and say that Budget is offering the same deal for $800. That is only a 20% discount and most dealers will give that almost automatically.

Note a few things though. If you are trying to get a truck on the last weekend of the month (especially June-September) they are extremely busy. There is less incentive for them to discount. Try to get it during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and you should easily get a better deal.

And just remember one thing about U-Haul. They have by far the worst customer service around. Their trucks are old and not well maintained. And the worst thing is that many times you make a reservation and they don't have a truck when you go to pick it up.

This happens a lot. So they came up with a "$50 reservation guarantee". If they give you a "guaranteed reservation" and don't have the truck, they will give you $50. But you need to read the fine print of their offer. It's only a "guaranteed reservation" when the dealer calls you the day before your rental and tells you they have a truck.

So what happens when the dealer gets too many reservations and doesn't have enough trucks? You don't get that phone call….you don't get a truck…you don't get the $50.

And this is the company you want to deal with? Go to Budget.

Check with Penske, they probably have a place close to you and are willing to negotiate price if you found one lower with Uhaul or Budget. Also, their trucks are newer, better maintained, and their poeple are nicer, they actually care.
